WASHINGTON—In an attempt to honor the memory of Martin Luther King Jr., President Trump entered the Rose Garden Monday to recite The Reverend Doctor’s I Have a Dream speech in full blackface. “This is for Martin, the King, ever heard of him? I mean, come on,” said the president when he arrived at the podium, adding how much he admired ‘the blackfaces of decades past’ for their classy, respectful, and ‘even’ admirable appropriation of African American culture and customs. “And, honestly, I’d like to think that Martin would’ve liked this very, very greatly. And, honestly, too, I’ll tell you that I, myself, actually, really, really like it, too.” Hours later, when the president recorded his Weekly Address to the Nation, he was still in blackface.
